The twelve-game rule: why every booth stops at a dozen
Choice is a gift until it becomes the job. Here is the maths that keeps Swanmei small on purpose.
A warehouse of five thousand games sounds generous and behaves like homework. Researchers have watched the same pattern for years: past a certain point, more options make people pick slower and enjoy less.
So Swanmei runs on a simple rule — no booth holds more than twelve games, and there are only ten booths. The biggest menu you can face here is one hundred and twenty tiles, and the daily tools shrink even that: one headliner, or three Mixer deals.
Twelve is small enough to scan in one breath and wide enough that a booth still feels like a place, not a shelf. When a new game wants in, something has to earn its way out. That is the whole trick: the fair stays walkable because nothing is allowed to sprawl.
